  • I would love to see something to protect and promote local, small, and diverse businesses, I don't have any ideas right now but it will be on my mind from now on.

I would prefer subsidies because daycares also needs to pay living wages to their employees.

I would like this to be structured like unemployment so the full burden is not on the small businesses because of a mandate.

  • I'm not sure if it exists, however, a 'shark tank' style program for MN companies meeting criteria who were partnered with larger companies willing to help with advice, space, legal services etc in return for some equity in the new company might be a win-win for all.

  • This probably needs a study as to what supports helped and what continuing support would be a good investment.

  • I grew up with a small business run by my parents and know how hard it is to succeed with a small team. When I left traditional business to raise my kids I began to work with small businesses to assist them with the emerging field of social media and saw more of what is faced here in MN. I would go to the legislature with all that experience in mind, and, an MBA from St. Thomas that taught me structures for success in business. I believe an affordable and comprehensive healthcare option would be one of the most impactful things we can do at a state level for small businesses. Removing that burden (financial and logistical) will allow business to focus on their core more. Working for equity in lending isn't a 'sexy' topic however when money is more expensive when you are small, it is harder to make the moves to grow. I believe there are ways the state can help with debt and lending equalization. Healthy small businesses help communities and in the end, I am looking for the best Minnesota for all.
