Small businesses across West Virginia strongly support the Build Back Better Act and will not rest until the Senate passes these needed critical investments in our economy. The Build Back Better Act and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act will make critical investments we need to boost our economy and rebuild our communities. One without the other is a job half done.

Main Street Alliance awards over 20 grants to Bars and Restaurants with Support from Seagram’s 7 Keep the Dive Alive

Main Street Alliance has awarded 22 grants of $3,500 to restaurants and dive bars across the country through a third round of the Main Street Relief Fund, with support from Seagram’s 7 Keep the Dive Alive campaign.

“Main Street Alliance and our member businesses applaud the House for passing a historic piece of legislation that will support entrepreneurs across the country. With the passage of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and now this first step on Build Back Better, we are on the precipice of a more equitable economy.
The inclusion of paid family and medical leave is a win for small businesses and an opportunity to build back better with equity. Paid leave is one of the most widely supported policies in the Build Back Better plan and can unite the country and boost the economy. Creating a national paid leave program would be a historic achievement and a worthy legacy to build on for future generations.

In response to President Biden signing the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act into law today, Co-Executive Director of Main Street Alliance, Chanda Causer, had this to say:
“The Infrastructure Act’s critical investments in our roads, bridges, supply chains, and broadband networks, particularly important for our rural small businesses, are needed to rebuild the economy and support entrepreneurs across the country. Main Street Alliance and our member businesses applaud President Biden for signing the Infrastructure Act into law. We are particularly supportive of the law-making permanent and expanding the Minority Business Development Agency - the only federal agency solely dedicated to supporting minority-owned businesses. With the passage of the IIJA and continued legislative movement on Build Back Better, we are on the precipice of a more equitable economy….
