100 Small Business Leaders to Converge on Capitol Hill to Urge Congress to Pass the American Jobs Plan and 100% Clean Electricity Standard

June 14, 2021

WASHINGTON, DC — One hundred prominent small business leaders from across the country and from a variety of industries will come together on Capitol Hill on June 16th in support of President Joe Biden’s historic American Jobs Plan and its provision for a 100% clean electricity standard (CES).

With the US Capitol as the backdrop, business leaders will speak about how the American Jobs Plan will provide direct monetary assistance to “mom-and-pop” businesses, as well as training to prepare workers for the careers of the future and universal broadband. It will also include provisions that directly address the effect climate change will have on these businesses.

This is part of the larger “100 Leaders for 100% Clean Energy” summer series of events, organized to demonstrate the broad-based support that exists across the country for the American Jobs Plan and its 100% clean power provision. The event is co-hosted by Ceres, the American Sustainable Business Council, the Main Street Action, the Hip Hop Caucus, Evergreen Action, and CCAN Action Fund. With U.S. House leaders intending to vote on the legislation by early July, the time to act is now.
