MSA member Masani, owner of Source of Knowledge bookstore in Newark, New Jersey, is more than a bookstore; they play a key role in the community by centering on Black art, literature, and culture. Source of Knowledge has created a Black community center and offers a personal touch and curation that only an independent bookstore can offer. But competing against Amazon and big-box bookstores has been difficult.
